The product
MyOfficialStory was created with the aim of becoming the world benchmark in image control. The Luxembourg-based company sells its patented technology which can be used to store and disseminate texts, photos, documents or items in complete security via a wide range of media. It also markets services to individuals who do not have the time or skills to handle these aspects themselves: advice in image control, photo shoots, drafting of texts, assistance with dissemination, design of personalised media and more. The MyOfficialStory system can be compared to Lego bricks: you can combine your content as required in all languages and across all media, both virtual and printed. The system allows you to manage your media presence in a targeted and powerful way, and can be completely personalised.
Crisis, what crisis?
“From our point of view, the financial crisis has had some beneficial effects”. The Managing Director of MyOfficialStory could be accused of being an eternal optimist. “We were able to take advantage of a resource that many start-ups lack: time! This allowed us to register a patent and fine tune all the details of our system”. In terms of communication, we decided on a field-based strategy: image control conferences, hot-air balloon flights over the centre of Luxembourg city, sponsoring of a major golf tournament, videos on the Internet and the launch of “Vendanges Luxembourgeoises” which brought together 3,000 people. And it’s working! “A year ago, we wondered whether people were truly aware of the importance of controlling their image. Today, we are using their feedback and requests to develop new solutions”.
Getting BIG
Luxembourg has fulfilled its role as a testing ground. “If Harry Potter lived in Luxembourg, he would be at the managing directors’ school! This is an arena where decision-makers such as Jean-Claude Bintz take time out to assist entrepreneurs. The size of the country provides the ideal conditions for business start-ups”. The time has come to move up to the next level. "We intend to expand internationally by means of licences, which we are selling to communication groups in major cities such as London, Hong Kong, New York and Dubai. Many start-ups have exploded by attempting this step too early. We know what we still need to do. The team is approaching this phase with enthusiasm and caution”.
